Places where I lived

Just like in science it is important to be multy proxy I believe life is much richer if you live it in a multi culty dimension. I grew up in Cimego (now called Borgo Chiese), a little village in the Italian Alps, but of course I wanted to see the world...

Daniela USA Taos new mexico AFS

When I was 16 years old I had the great chance to be an AFS exchange student and to spent a year in Taos (New Mexico, USA) attending the local high school. I was hosted by the Albrecht family, who toke care of me as their own daughter. In the USA I also met other exchange students from all around the world and found some good friends among them. I will never be greatful enough to my parents that allowed me to live this experience that was truly life transforming.

When I decided to become a palynologist I moved to Innsbruck (Austria) and started working at the University of Innsbruck and then at the Institute for Interdisciplinary Mountain Research of the Austrian Academy of Sciences. Tyrol is my home now since many years and I love it here! In addition, Italy is not that far!

When I was a University student I had the possibility to spend a year abroad thanks to the Erasmus Program offered by the European Union. I stayed in Norway and attended the University of Bergen taking courses on Geology, Mineralogy and Zoology. It was very intersting to see different approaches to the subjects. Bergen is a beautiful city stituated in a fjord surrounded by mountains, it's impossible not to love it! I was lucky enough to find very good friends there, and I am glad that some friendships still hold despite time and distance.
